I have been quiet on my blog for awhile, sorry if you guys have been missing the posts! Honestly, I wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to take my photography…and this has probably been going on the last 2-3 years. That is a long time to be deciding! I have been taking pictures for almost 9 years now. Only 1 more year and I have been doing weddings and portrait photography in Middle Tennessee for TEN YEARS! I feel like I am having a mid-life photography crisis.
Anyways, I decided it was time to do start doing some shoots and work that was more in the direction I would like to be. I love being able to be creative. I love having control over a session from the wardrobe, lighting, poses, background, etc. So I decided to stop making excuses, stop procrastinating, and start working towards these goals. I have put a halt on some of the more taxing types of sessions that I don’t receive much enjoyment from, and have just started accepting clients that are going to fit in the style and work that I want to do.
To kick off my 2015, Olivia came to my home studio and we had tons of fun shooting dresses from Rent-the-Runway and using my embarrassingly ginormous collection of make-up. I also hand-painted one of the backgrounds (inspiration from Sue Bryce!) and picked up some interesting texture fabric from our local Hobby Lobby. We made a day out of it and got some wonderful shots! I am going to announce more types of these sessions in the future at my home studio, more beauty & glamour.
Anyways, thanks for following me on my photography journey, 2015 is turning out to be a wonderful year!
